Most of my recipes are grain free and dairy free simply because my body has a hard time digesting these foods. Using coconut flour allows this mug cake to have a very similar texture to that of traditional cake. I make my own nut milk at home using just nuts and water and so that is what I used here. I choose applesauce rather than oils because I prefer a more natural and less processed ingredient. It really does work so well as an oil replacer! My sweetener of choice for each of my recipes are either honey, maple syrup or dates. This allows desserts to actually taste like desserts but without all of that processed sugar!
